Brian Hiltner of Honsa-Binder Assists in Saving a Life!

Hiltner credits his PIM’s Red Cross CPR-AED-First Aid Training Class he took this summer helping making him confident to jump in!

Marla Moyer who was also in the class sent this email to Red Cross instructor Kris Davis also Director of Education and Outreach for PIM..

“I know you don’t always hear about your first aid students after they move on, but Brian took your course this summer and yesterday saved a life. He came upon a man who had fallen and got impaled by a stake in his femoral artery and was bleeding out. Brian and another gentleman applied pressure and a tourniquet (his belt) until paramedics arrived. The EMT’s attributed their quick thinking and ability to saving is life. A few more minutes and he would have been gone.”

Brian Hiltner really was cool under pressure and even went to the hospital and visited the man he saved, who was soon to be released and very thankful for having Brian cross his path that day.  Brian told Marla, “the First Aid class was very helpful in this situation. He went in knowing what he had to do and just did it without hesitation.

Way to go Brian!  Amazing stories – Getting Trained Saves Lives – Help Keep Your Workforce and those around you safe, PIM offers Red Cross CPR-AED-First Aid Training once every three months and can also do group training at PIM Member facilities.
