PIM NEWS & UPDATES

The 2020 Star Awards is Going Virtual

Same Date – August 25, 2020  |  New Place – Online Only

After seeking feedback from the Printing Industry Midwest (PIM) Board of Directors and you, our PIM members, we have decided the 2020 Star Awards Banquet – Print is Everywhere event will be held virtually this year! This was not an easy decision, but to keep our members and our vendors safe and healthy we feel this is the best move. Over the next few weeks PIM staff will be working on details to make this virtual event fun and entertaining. Watch for emails with more information.

Thank you for your patience as we work out the details. We want to tell you how much we appreciate your support of the Star Awards. Hopefully we will be back to a live in-person event for the 2021 Star Awards.

PIM’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Update

PIM’s EHS team, Paul Gutkowski and Cathy Malinowski, have been working hard to help PIM members stay up-to-date and meet the COVID requirements. If you or your team has questions, please reach out to Paul and Cathy. A few things to keep in mind…

  1. At PIM we have heard some Minnesota companies have COVID Preparedness Plans. Ask yourself does it meet the Minnesota OSHA requirements? If you are not sure, go to the PIM website under the COVID icon to make sure it meets the requirements. When you have questions, please email Paul Gutkowski.
  2. Some companies have created Workflow Charts, like this one, to help employees stay safe and healthy while at work. This is one way to handle to these steps but is not the only way. Again, you need to make sure your plan meets the COVID Preparedness Plans requirements.
  3. Now is a great time to get required training complete, OSHA does not slow down or reduced enforcement. PIM’s EHS team is offering a Forklift Train the Trainer Online Workshop tomorrow. OSHA requires both classroom and practical instruction in the proper operation of the vehicle, possible hazards, and other concerns specific to your facility. Also PIM’s EHS team always offers Right to Know training which is required for all printers. Some states, such as Minnesota, require Right to Know training annually. Learn More.
