Where Great Printing Meets Green Practices – PIM’s Great Green Printer
Printing Industry Midwest’s (PIM) Great Green Printer Environmental Initiative is a voluntary program that recognizes print companies committed to sustainable, responsible printing. Great Green Printers go beyond basic environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements by reducing waste, increasing energy efficiency, recycling more, and creating safer, healthier workplaces.
With a 30-year legacy, the program sets printers on a path of continuous improvement through regular EHS audits and “beyond compliance” projects that deliver real environmental and employee benefits. By participating, printers demonstrate leadership in sustainability—and customers who choose Great Green Printers play an active role in reducing environmental impact through smarter print decisions.
To qualify, a printer must meet the following criteria:
- Commit to the PIM Great Printer Environmental Initiative Principles. This commits the company to:
- Complete an Environmental, Health & Safety Compliance Audit annually or once every 36 months if they have a written and effective environmental management system (EMS) in place.
- Pursue Beyond Compliance Projects: The company must have completed at least one beyond compliance project within the last five years and must currently be working on at least two other beyond compliance projects.
Printing Industry Midwest (PIM) can assist you in all phases of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance management. PIM EHS provides service that is totally flexible to meet your company’s compliance needs as effectively as possible. Please direct all EHS questions to Cathy Malinowski (cathym@pimw.org, 612.868.6771) or Paul Gutkowski (paulg@pimw.org, 612.400.6205).
